Do you putt? Or, just leave the ball and walk to the 18th?

First off, what respectable golfer carries a frigging CAMERA on his round?:headscratch:

Second, with more time I will share a number of stories of running into and around some gators down here.

Oh yeah.

But that only changes the question to what respectable golfer carries a frigging PHONE on his round?:headscratch:

Odd thing is you can get away with carrying a camera on a round at Augusta but pull out a cell phone and you will be kicked out the front gate.

Honestly, I've considered taking my digital camera to a few courses around here just for situations like this one. That pic was taken when I was helping them update their web site.

Two years ago, on the same hole, there was a Moc there that was a good 5ft long. I'd bet in the middle it was at least 4½", maybe 5 in diameter. We just putted around it.

Off the top of your head, just how many different species have you see on a course? Non-domestic of course. The one that shocked me this year was a wolf. It wasn't so much seeing it, but seeing it on that course.

For the golfers...

3 par, 175 from the gold over water (don't even know why I mention that because there's water on 14 holes) and then over a bunker surrounding the front and sides. Handicap on the hole is 18 which is a bit of a misnomer considering...

Here's a brief look around the clubhouse. If you are interested, that's me at the buffet line in black wind gear.

I was mostly joking with the camera remark. Mostly.

I would have to think about the number of different animals seen on the course.

Alligators scare the hell out of me. Bad. My back yard butts up against my golf club and there is a little gator family that sets up a regular home on the course. There has been more than one time I have seen one looking through the fence between our property. I will literally die if I ever go into the back yard and find one there. And will violate a few laws regarding the discharging of a firearm in Tampa City Limits.

My in-laws have a pretty large farm in-land (kind of a runaway place for hurricanes) with a pair of lakes. There must be close to 100 bull gators in those lakes. At night, with all the lights out and televisions off, you can hear their grunts. Sounds like thunder rolling in. Both beautiful and horrorfying at the same time. I do not think I sleep ten minutes where spending the night there.

I will say the most unexpected animal I saw on a course was a darn goat. Was teeing off on a remote course in North Carolina (near Murphy). As I was addressing my tee shot on the 17th, I head a rustling behind me and turned to see three billy-goats looking at me - with a look in their eyes of "why is that man hitting that egg with a funny stick?"

They stared at me a few minutes and walked away after I had hit their snack a few hundred yards down the fairway.

Being near the mountain-folk in NE Georgia and SW North Carolina, I wondered if the goats were regular dates for some of the gentlemen in the area.

One of my business partners has played at Sun City in South Africa. Giraffes, hippos, elephants, zebras, and lions are just a few of the animals he saw roaming the course. I might even have to locate a camera if I saw those during my round.
