Not surprised at all to be honest. I think CNS gave him the benefit of the doubt by keeping him around for the 07 season. Amazing how you give kids chances and they still find some way to screw it up in the end.

IDK what the other "controlled substance" is, but it is a complete joke this state is still backward enough to actually arrest people for simple possession of marijuana. But it's totally cool for me to purchase a handle of Jim Beam & slaughter some brain cells. Then maybe I'll be so stupid-drunk I'll decide to drive afterward!

This is one more area of our society here in the US where we are simply lying to ourselves. We've become an entire nation of hypocrites. We want to tax the daylights out of booze and smokes, but don't let anyone get caught with something that we don't and won't tax. Oh, but it's a gateway drug.......:lance:

I'm in favor of making people who get caught with pot pay a cash fine, on the spot, to the local law enforcement agency that busts them. They pull you over for a routine spot, give you a bill for the tax, you pay it, you go on your way. Everyone wins. And at least one person gets high.

And I'm the cleanest living sob you'll ever meet. Never smoked anything but a stogie after the 2002 Bama win over UT. Don't have alcohol in my house. I do curse. A lot.

what i dont get is all these "doesn't surprise me" comments? how so? yea i've heard all the 'he was lazy', 'he had a bad attitude', etc. comments but i dont remember DJ ever gettin into ANY legal problems while at Bama. so how does it go from being lazy or having a bad attitude jump all the way to not being surprised about him gettin caught with pot? come on guys.

If you'll re-read my post, you'll see that I was not referring to DJ Hall, but to people who get arrested for simple possession of marijuana. I believe the "other controlled substance" that I mentioned took DJ out of the "simple possession of marijuana" category immediately.

Not a big jump. My cousin is a Marine Police officer in Tuscaloosa. He caught DJ and Keith Brown with pot on the lake.

DJ didn't get into any legal problems that I'm aware of while in uniform at Alabama but he sure did love smoking some blunts. So, it isn't surprising to me.
