Big Chief was talking on another thread about how the only bowl game that matters any more is the BCSNCG. That has truly been the case, pretty much it's inception in 1998. That leaves for a lot of lack luster bowl games and a lot of empty seats for those games to be played in front of.
I think with the advent of the playoff that will remedy some of the hum drum feelings a lot of fans have towards these games. Think of how good we would be sitting right now if the playoff were this year.
I wondered with an "extra" game how that would play with the fan bases and the added cost of an extra game, but I tend to think it will not affect the fans all that much. Most of us have to watch from the house any way. I think the schools playing in Pasadena this year have an allotment of less than 18,000 seats. That is about 1/4 of what the respective schools do each and every Saturday at their home stadium.
Just one of those things you ponder on a rainy Saturday afternoon in your hunting stand.
