I ran across a comment surfing around the 'net that I hadn't really put together ... thought it was an interesting trivia bit.
We're looking at four National titles with Saban coming against Texas, LSU, Notre Dame, and now Clemson. All four of these teams had something in common ... the number of losses combined when they faced the Tide in the title game: zero.
Texas, 13-0 until the game in Pasadena.
LSU, 13-0 until the game in New Orleans.
Notre Dame, 12-0 until the game in Miami.
And Clemson, 14-0 until the game in Glendale.
52-0, combined records, before meeting the Tide in the championship game.
I think I mentioned this in another thread ... but if you missed it as well, look at the locations of those games. Everyone was a championship location in the BCS era ... a big of a grand slam, if you will.
