🏈 Did ND get ripped last night?

FSU got flagged for PI in the end zone in the first half. By a strict interpretation of the rules it was the right call, but in practice that amount of contact would have been waved off most of the time.

I have seen ND get the benefit of so many questionable calls over the years that I have no sympathy for them whatever.

The FSU flag wouldn't have been thrown?

I don't think it would have most of the time, as the FSU DB did not seem to gain any advantage from the contact. Should have said 'ignored' rather than 'waved off'. Must have coffee.

Yeah, get some coffee. I was confused on which flag wouldn't have been thrown—the one on FSU or ND.

I'm curious about how this is going to be handled from the NCAA's point of view. In other circumstances when a coach is somewhat critical of officiating and states that publicly there's a fine assessed.

Here's the recap of what Kelly has said:

"Florida State blew the coverage and they got rewarded for it. So it's unfortunate."
"We'll have conversations with the supervisor of officials for the ACC this afternoon. I'm sure we'll get even less clarification."

The ACC's comment:

"ACC says offensive players (ND last play) are restricted from downfield blocking to cause “sufficient restriction,” hence call correct."

Here's where my confusion comes in...

Even though ND is partial (lack of a better word) member of the ACC their game against FSU wasn't a conference game. So, any type of fine that might have been levied technically can't, right?

So, does ND/Kelly "dodge" that bullet since there's no conference administration to hand down any type of punishment?
