Other than the opening kickoff return, Javy didn't seem to have the same explosiveness and elusiveness he is known for on kick returns or punt returns.

I noticed he had to stay on the field after the defense forced Clemson to punt, many times.

Anyone think this double duty may be a fatigue factor in the near future???

this is one area where we are maybe missing a couple of guys that were blocking last year for the return team.

No. Average blocking on punt returns yields average results.

Second that.

I actually third that. A friend mentioned that he looked tired from playing on defense. I quickly said that it looked like we weren't blocking very well on the returns. Nice eye there reger. :D

At first glance, I don't want to thinks so. But....

On the punt return in the 4th(?), the one where his knee went down, could be seen as a possible sign of fatigue(trying to save a step by widening his stance, then his knee went down adjusting to the kick).

It is something I will keep an eye on in the future.

His numbers, as in average, are identical in both kickoff returns and punt returns for the Clemson game as they were last year.

Seriously. Identical.

I watched this game with a handfull of friends and we talked about that a little. I don't think it was too hard on him, the blocking was a little poor (IMO) on the punt returns.

There are some adjustments going to be made on special teams in terms of personnel.

Aight!

CNS mentioned this in the post game show. Special Teams weren't all that special and he mentioned that is an area in which they can improve...................a lot!

If he's the best corner and his return numbers end up being down a bit (as Terry said, right now they're not), I think he's helping his team more this year than last.

Tim
