Sad to see Drake 3rd string. I simply think he is better than Henry because he can make something happen at the blink of an eye. Not saying Henry can't, but watching Drake run is something I look forward to each weekend and even when we see practice.

i believe all of the running backs will have a chance every game to get on the field, keep them fresh and make the defense quit

Agreed, I don't think the "strings" matter much here. Each back has a different purpose, too. Look at Drake versus Henry versus Yeldon, all differing skill sets, all (I imagine) to be used strategically for their strengths. I think Drake will still shine this year, especially with a new QB at the helm.

I'm all for us getting the ball to Drake in space and I think we are going to see it. I'm anxious to see Henry - we got a brief sample of what he could do late in the season and I want to see if it that is his norm. I'd also like to see Yeldon snag the career rushing yard record this year...but it might be hard to do with the rest of the talent on the team. Its all resting on the shoulders of the QB.

Say more to this, why do you think a new QB will make Drake shine?

A new QB tends to mean more uncertainty with the passing game, adjusting, etc. In my experience as an armchair football fan, at least, I notice that teams with new QBs at the helm tend to focus more on the rush game. Though given the receiving weapons we have, who knows. That, plus a new offensive coordinator, makes me think Drake will have a bigger role this year. I think the rushing game as a whole will shine.

As expected, Alabama Coach Nick Saban presented the pre-season depth chart to sports reporters Monday. And, also as expected, he told us it didn’t mean much. The most anticipated starter is the quarterback, but it was no surprise that the depth chart didn’t answer that question.

I think the staff wants Coker to win the job. If it's still close then I think that says that the staff just needs Coker to prove a little bit more because terminology, comfort, etc should mean a landslide victory for Sims to win it, but here we are a week before the first game and it's dead even.

Making sure I"m yelling at the right player, as he scores the first TD will be my problem. :DTrying to keep up with who in and who not.:headscratch: :rtrsign::bigaldance: I have done it before , and I will do it again.

No real surprises other than we will run 10 deep on the DL front!! Fresh legs will keep a constant push on the pocket causing the QB to make mistakes and help our young corners.
I wasn't shocked at all with co #1 listed at QB with Sims and Coker. Not naming him before the game will give the DC several headaches to try and diagnose before the first snap.
