šŸˆ Departing Alabama starters offer predictions (sort of) for who will replace them in 2013

Though they were reluctant to name names, the now-former Alabama players say the Crimson Tide will be in good hands with whomever replaces them.

It's hard enough to get an Alabama player to look past the next opponent. Getting them to predict a future that doesn't include them is even tougher.

Alas, members of the Alabama beat tried their best over the past month or so with a few players who were experiencing their final season with the Crimson Tide.

The results were mixed, but are worth sharing nonetheless.

Cornerback Dee Milliner, who announced Friday that he would leave Alabama one year early for the NFL, was the only one who named names when he was asked about who might replace him.

"You’ve got Geno (Smith), Bradley Sylve," Milliner said. "You’ve always got people behind you that can make plays and do different things. You’ve got people that are going to go to the NFL each year. You’ve got people behind them that are going to do the same thing when their time comes.

I'm guessing a combination of Fulton & Smith at Corner. Vinnie, HaHa, and Collins will handle the Safety spots. Yeldon will share the rock with Dee Hart and Derrick Henry with Fowler doing his combo role from the beginning of the year. Arie will take Warmack's spot, Kelly at C, and Brown will take over for Fluker. Ivory at the nose and Pagan at Square's spot. Vogler and OJ Howard as the TE/HB.

Volger, Harrison Jones, and OJ Howard, Pretty good TE's. Brent Calloway and Kurt at H-Back, Volger will split time there also.

LBers, you have: CJ Mosely, Adrian Hubbard, Dickson, Denzell Devall, and Depriest returning...Add into that, Dillon Lee, Reggie Ragland, and Ryan Anderson.

D-line is interesting. You have Brandon Ivory returning to replace that big NT position, LaMichael Fanning will be in that DE role, Ed Stinson. Wonder if Dakota Ball may work his away into the role, be a big impact like Nick Gentry was.

We will be loaded once again with depth at most positions. Receivers are especially note worthy if the injured guys completely recover. Does anyone have info on Lake and A. Taylor as potential DL. I have not noticed any Juco DLs as coach usually does.

I think this is going to be by far the most talented and loaded receiving group we've ever had.

Not impressed with Ivory at NT. I'll be interested to see how that plays out and hopefully he's solid next year.

As a true sophomore, he's having better results than Nick Gentry did his Jr. year. As a sophomore, he's had practically the same number of total tackles Gentry did his Sr. year. The only difference between Ivory as a true sophomore and Gentry as a fifth year Sr. is tackles for losses and sacks and Gentry only had a few more.

He's progressing right along pace in my eyes.

If you want to look at it under an evaluation standpoint he came out of East as a composite three star. Why do I mention that? That is supposed to translate to a kid contributing his Jr. season. Nationally, at his position, he was ranked about the 75th best DT in that class.

I thought Ivory made srides throughout the season to be honest. I can't wait to see Tomlinson hit the field. If the switch flips for a few of these guys, we will be scary good once again!

Ivory has been a big run stopper in the middle..I've watched a few games where he was in on 2-3rd and short and drew lots of attention from the o-line and didn't even budge. I was impressed with him, he will definitely be a big contributor next year

I think the most telling thing about Ivory (and Jesse Williams) was the Georgia game. With both guys out and Damion Square having to play the inside Georgia was gashing us in the run. Ivory & Williams get back in and BOOM, stuffed.

K. Drake will be a force to be reckoned with in 2k13! He's big, quick and slippery to boot. IMHO, he will be '13's Yeldon to Lacy. Add in Jaulston, Hart, and the serious studs coming in this recruiting class and it will be a continuing hell-on-blazing-always fresh-wheels assault on the opposition!

IF he learns how to block.
