Though they were reluctant to name names, the now-former Alabama players say the Crimson Tide will be in good hands with whomever replaces them.
It's hard enough to get an Alabama player to look past the next opponent. Getting them to predict a future that doesn't include them is even tougher.
Alas, members of the Alabama beat tried their best over the past month or so with a few players who were experiencing their final season with the Crimson Tide.
The results were mixed, but are worth sharing nonetheless.
Cornerback Dee Milliner, who announced Friday that he would leave Alabama one year early for the NFL, was the only one who named names when he was asked about who might replace him.
"Youāve got Geno (Smith), Bradley Sylve," Milliner said. "Youāve always got people behind you that can make plays and do different things. Youāve got people that are going to go to the NFL each year. Youāve got people behind them that are going to do the same thing when their time comes.
