He's got a pretty good wealth of young talent there defensively right now. He's most certainly going to add on to it while he's there. He should draft Bruce Young first though, get you a franchise QB, and build around him.... then go draft some other pieces. There's quality free agents out there as well, or players not wanting to return to their current team.
Outstanding.... He is one of my favorite past Bama players....3 star from the Minor Tigers.

What a great accomplishment, and what a challenge. That's the way it works. I'd love to see him succeed and then leave it all for Bama, of course being compensated appropriately.

If he's successful at Houston he'll remain there for as long as possible. He clearly loves that place.
What a testament it would be if Saban's successor was a Bama man who preceded his era? I know I'm WAY ahead of myself here, but if there is another four years of Saban performance (and I believe it so, with one NC in there), and then his departure as the greatest, what a next step to have a coach who was a pro-bowler who brings in a new (not next because we're skipping a few) generation...
Happy for DeMeco! He has always represented UA well and you won't find a player or coach who doesn't have high respect for him. Has a chance to build something really good there if QB (likely Bryce) works out.
In 2005, I would've lost money if you'd asked me to wager who would be an NFL head coach first, Shula or Ryans.
I wish him well as he takes over in Houston for the Texans! Hopefully, he has a long run as an NFL head coach.
Got to let him get his team in first, before getting rid of him! I think it may take two-three years to do this?

He won't have that long. You've got to show immediate improvement in the Not For Long league.
He will get an extended honeymoon IMO, but it is really important they get QB right. They have the #2 and #12 picks and have $40 million in cap space with more likely coming. Also helps they are in the easier AFC division... nice recipe for a quick turnaround.
