Need a professional analyst to give a detailed layout of the level of badass 'Bama's D will be this season.

If you want, give a description of Coach Saban's style of defensive coaching. Why is his system so hard to learn?

Hard to learn? I've got a copy of his defensive playbook from a few years ago at LSU. 336 pages is what they started with - started.

336? Wow. Thanks Terry. I didn't know that and wouldn't want to learn it.

It's some interesting stuff Altie. I really developed a lot of respect for what Rashad brought to the field just by going through the calls made by him alone.

And yes, 336. Granted, the first ten pages or so go over what he expects from his team and their schedule, but around page 13-15 it gets into the scheme.

Just personnel wise you should go back and look at game film from last year. It's mind-boggling the number of groupings we use and then getting into the actual scheme of what they are doing?

If that's not the definition of NFL style defense, I don't know what is. I wonder how much the fact they had to learn such a complex play book in college helped their draft status (not just their on the field results).

I think I remember reading, when CNS was with the Dolphins, that some of his players complained about having to learn such a complicated system, LOL. If someone were willing to pay me NFL money I know darned well I'd learn that playbook inside out. since my livelihood would depend on it.

Heck, they were complaining about him teaching technique as well...
