I don't think they have to find anyone, I was just curious as to who he wants. Alabama loses a ton every year. Look what they lost on offense last season. They aren't going to average 23.5 points a game all of a sudden in 2021.

If clemson were to boatrace bama again, I would think that would send Golding packing. The third down defense since hes been here has been just awful. Can't get off the field because he has his guys out of position so badly with his atrocious playcalling.

Heck bama could win that game imo and still send golding packing if his D gives up 40 again. The days of holding teams to 13 points are over, but a competent unit can hold teams under 40.

3rd and Golding has become a new term for good reason. Even if you get a team to 3rd sown, 3rd and long, chances are the other team is still going to convert because of Golding's sorry zone schemes.

Thats a bite

i know about talent pool...
And may not dropback to 24.6 a game...
But......may not be able to hit 50+ when needed ( even hit high 40s in 19 and still lost 2)
Difference between.....citrus bowl...n CFPs

I have no reason to believe he won't be here next season with a lot of reasons why I believe he'll be back.

We're certainly seeing the 'cucks' reveal themselves around the 'net post game.

I think this may be it honestly but Saban gets paid big bucks to figure it out. I said earlier in the year there are no Jonathan Alan's, Daron Paynes or CJ Mosley's out there on the field right now. 31 is starting to look the part and some of the young DL are getting better (Young and Williams).

31 is a couple of biscuits away from being a Hoss....fact is our DL has really shown improvement as the games progressed....#50 looks to be a playa as well. When Pruitt walked out the door our recruiting for ILB died (evaluations).
 
Iā€™m not knowledgeable enough to dissect schemes and play-calling, but early in the year our defense often seemed terribly out of position. And tacking was atrocious. I didnā€™t see that last night on my TV.

Also dont get why they dont blitz more. Against a guy like Trask, you have to dial up pressure, especially when your secondary cant defend a pass like tonight. Trask is good, but any QB is vulnerable to pressure if you get to them consistently.

Youā€™re right about defenses holding teams to 13 points and under being a thing of the past but I think good coaching and talented players like Bama recruits should be able to hold great offenses to something like 26 points per game. Now, I realize a lot of my fellow Tide fans refuse to accept criticism of Saban or the team but I canā€™t help but to call them like I see them. Full disclosure ... Iā€™m a lifelong rabid Bama fan whose been blessed to live during 12 of the Tideā€™s NCā€™s. That makes me old and old school so I donā€™t like basketball on grass.

All that being said ... just take this one fact into account then tell me Bamaā€™s defense is fine in that Florida scoring 46 was just the result of modern football. The one fact: Florida scored more against Bama than they did against any other team other than Ole Miss and Arkansas. If that oneā€™s not enough hereā€™s another ... Florida only scored in the 30ā€™s against SC, Texas A&M, Vandy, Kentucky, LSU and the Volā€™s. And one last fact - Track threw for more yardage against the Tide than he did against 6 other SEC teams. The bottom line is Bamaā€™s defense, even taking modern offenses into account, isnā€™t great. Thatā€™s not to say Bama canā€™t or wonā€™t win the NC because they can and I most certainly hope will it all ... but if they do it will be because of their prolific O.
 
While players are important , there really is no replacement for a good play caller.. I went and looked it up and with similar talent I took kirbys last two years and pruittā€™s two ...


I wanted to make up a cool chart showing the differences and the improved defensive rankings when pruitts was calling the plays compared to Kirby .. I couldnā€™t do it ..

3rd down defense, passing defense, giving up explosive pass plays , scoring defense, total defense all improved under Pruitt...

Hell every player on defense from the 2015 and 2016 teams went to the NFL and we still lost to Dabo U in 2016 and pulled it out in 2015 by the skin of our teeth

Great defense today means holding them to 24-30 points
