| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

Giving blood in a few weeks for a blood drive. Red Cross is providing antibody results as well. Wondering how accurate the testing is.

A friends of ours who was in the middle of fighting breast cancer for the last 8 months tested asymptomatic, however believe she was actually a false positive based on her results and her families testing. None of them tested positive or have antibodies as a result of her initial positive test.

I still do not know a single person who's tested positive and been impacted. My sister is still dealing with covid-19 patients.

I'm still of the same opinion, *&^%$# the CCP.

I just found out my momma's cousin, the guy that got me into guns as a kid, has it, had a stroke while in the hospital from it they said, and will die from it very soon. He is 70, and has never been the same health wise after a motorcycle wreck probably 20 years ago, but he's the closest person to me. I hate it for him, but it's still not making me change my routine. Only saying because he's the closest to me testing positive and we all know what I have said on here about the virus, so just sharing information.

I think it goes both ways so accuracy is an issue. Talked with a guy this week who he and his wife both had Corona based on their symptoms (aches, fever, loss of taste etc...) He was convinced they both had it but tests always came back negative based on those symptoms. It could be they had something else or the test was a false negative.

It's to a point where anyone that sneezes is assumed to have the coronavirus. I hate to sound like this considering how my stance has been expressed, but I find it difficult to see how it goes both ways. I can see the tests showing positive and in fact being negative (it's airborne and particles are everywhere and can contaminate a test results easily), but I find it hard seeing it the other way with actually having it and being negative while also not being asymptomatic.

What's irritating to me, we all know the rules right now. Businesses are being shutdown for 2 weeks and people will lose income.

Just disappointing overall.

Not sure how long the mayor has befire his next election, but I'm betting he will not see the next term in that office. That dude is a pud, a follower, not a leader.

The CDC no longer recommends asymptomatic testing, even post-exposure

Are they sending them to a certain lab in Jersey? 🙃

I heard on the way home this morning there were 75+ false positives in the NBA alone over the weekend. If I understood the report correctly, all the tests went to the same lab.

They were also talking about 77 false positive test for football players this morning on the NFL network. Apparently from the same lab in NJ. It is beyond me how anyone can have any confidence in this kabooky theatre of false positives, numbers of sick people and overblown death numbers. Shit just does not add up.

I think it goes both ways because many people just stay home and do not get tested. I know my example is only one example but it is definitely more than a sneeze.

If I were a student, or parent of a student, I'd be ticked off! It wouldn't be just because I list the roommate I/we had chosen. It would be food. Burke West has a dining hall and I know some of these kids won't have that in their new dorm. $250 bucks of "virtual cash" just adds insult to injury.
