🏀 'cruiting: 5 star SG Terrance Ferguson ~ Visit news and expected news

Very exciting. I would love for us to be players for the big time recruits once again. Lately the only list we have made for kids like this is the ''also had offers from'' list. Years since a Gerald Wallace or a Mo Williams type has given us a serious look.

Any news on how his trip went?
Perfect timing. I came here just to update this thread.

Ferg said his trip was a perfect 10. He met with Coach Saban, said it was truly an honor, and shared a little about what Saban told him. CNS talked about the shape of the football team/program when he got here and said all it took was a few good players to buy in to the process. Loved the facilities, loved his experience in Tuscaloosa. He mentioned how Avery was his first in-home ... knows AJ can get him to where he wants to be ... and really got into the "Buckle up" theme.

AJ, and a few others on and around the team, were tweeting Roll Tide last night which has a lot of people assuming/thinking AJ may have landed him last night. Cryptic tweets ... and people trying to read between the lines.

TFerg's periscope account... you can hear AJ pitching in the background.

Expecting to hear this public soon.

Consider this. We're in the first week of football practice and conversations are going to be about landing Ferg. Watch.

That's because CAJ has created a buzz around the program since being hired. He's been all throughout Tuscaloosa, he's been at all the top recruit's doors, he's talked about what needs to be fixed and has met with the current players in the summer, got Eubanks, and then has been cool ass shit.

With CAJ's roots to Dallas, we might be in good shape for Ferg.

He's (CAJ) going against one of the best recruiters in college basketball in one Bill Self. And that's not even mentioning the tradition Kansas brings to the table.

I was surfing around a little yesterday and saw Rodney (TI) make reference to the staff hoping to hear something this past weekend as well. What really caught my eye was him saying one of the people he talked to made a comparison to Julio in terms of the impact Ferg could have on the program.

You think trying to understand what a football recruit is thinking in his process of choosing a school ... basketball guys make even less sense. Is it development? Is it the NBA? Is it the education? Any combination of those three?

Especially when it is a 17 year old trying to make a decision. We did beat Kansas and Self for Trevor Releford, but we were in on him very early and Self and Kansas were late coming to the table because Trevor was not their first choice.

We will need to win some battles like these to achieve what Avery wants to achieve. I am not saying we won't get this kid, but it compares to say Missouri trying to get a recruit away from us in football, one that we really want.
