Cowboys Deal for Amari Cooper

Yes and no. Were they supposed to be good this year?

I look at it like this - If Cooper finishes this year very strong, what good does that do Oakland? They're not going to be good either way.

If he continues to struggle to produce at a high level (even due to bad QB play) then what? Couldn't get a first rounder for him next year.... Shocked they could this year!

Under Del Rio they produced one of the best offenses in the NFL. A season removed from a 12-4 season. It was their defense that couldn't plug enough holes. In one season he has taken a QB in Derek Carr that has been to 3 straight pro bowls games that now looks like he can't complete a short pass. And hardly anything dynamic about their offense in general.

I don't think draft picks are going to help.

Yeah but look at Luck and RG3 before their injuries.... That can change a dude.

Amari ain't gonna do much for them right now... But a draft pick is under a reasonable contract for 4-5 years and has value... could even use it to get another OL since that's an issue

How is Luck any different from before his injury? Dude is like second in the league in touchdowns and is just coming off of one of the most efficient games in NFL history (15 completions with 4 TDs).

Good point... Also took what, 2-3 years to get here? Grudens on Game 6?

I must be missing something here. Was there another injury I'm missing? The only Andrew Luck injury I know about is the shoulder injury he had last year that made him miss the season. He had like 4,000 yards, 30+ TDs the year before that.

You right... my bad. Thought he missed the better part of 2 seasons.

I guess if DC becomes AL, Gruden will be in luck!

Prolly thinking of the other big head Indy QB lol I think he missed two years before he came back with that neck injury.

Good thing Gruden didn't make any comments like this. How do you trust this guy?

“one of the reasons I came back to coach is Khalil Mack.”, "Amari Cooper will be the centerpiece of this offense.”
Imagine how Derek Carr feels. His entire is now made up super old veterans and way too young guys, not so good players.

I think Luck had a lacerated kidney ? two years ago on a scramble early in the season. I think the shoulder injury came after that.

Early November 2015 was the kidney. And I found articles from April 2016 where he said he was still not 100%. Surgery for a torn labrum in January 2017, after he had also messed up his shoulder snowboarding.
Thanks for your research and clearing that up. I was going off my very vague memory.
