Sorry about the belated congratulations, but I had to travel for work Tuesday and just got back in town last night.

Very impressive team. I think the Tide played as good a game as any college team I've seen in a long time. It may be a while before you lose again, but I'm hoping we get abother crack at it in the not too distant future. Enjoy the championship, it is well deserved.

BTW.......Thanks for letting me post. You have a pretty good group of Tide fans on this forum.

No offense meant Irish#1 but I'd like to know how you felt about the way your team was prepared for the game. It was obvious, to me anyway, they thought they couldn't run the ball and passing was their only hope. Is that the way you took their game plan?

For this to be the biggest game ND had played in since the late 80's they looked completely unprepared for our offense or defense. Your thoughts?

No offense taken. I thought it was a combination of preparation and talent, but mostly preparation. I think ND has quite a few guys that could play for Bama, but the Tide has elite players across the board. I think Kelly saw that when he started watching film and his halftime comments before going to the lockerrom confirmed that for me. For instance we have a good solid O-line, but not a great one. Two will play on Sunday, but not all five. Our CB's are a true freshman and a RS freshmen that were receivers in HS and were recruited to play receiver at ND. Their first taste of playing DB was this past spring. They did a great job all season, but looked a little lost in the NCG. I don't know if Bama ran some patterns they hadn't seen before or if they just got beat.

Barret Jones (saw the feature on him right before the game started, what a great kid) stated after the game that they knew where ND would be before every snap and when they shifted, the Irish shifted right where they thought they would be making their assignments much easier. Diacco is a very good, but young DC. He's still learning and from what I know about him, he'll learn from this game. I think Kelly learned a lot as well. He's already shown in his three years that he can change and adapt so I think going forward there were a number of positives that came out of the game. If this recruiting class holds together come signing day, I think you'll see a more agressive defense in the next couple of years.

Thanks Irish, it took someone with a lot of class to conduct yourself the way you did before and now after the big game.

The Irish are headed in the right direction and Alabama had to lose a few big ones before we learned how to play like Alabama again...

I am sure the Irish will be playing like Notre Dame is supposed to play football in the very near future!

Recruiting is key:

Possibly to send a message to both teams that they would attack the entire field. Eifert did beat him on the second throw of the game. I really thought thaty was a catch.

Didnt really beat him, he got up above Dee and Dee never got his head around but did get his arm in there a bit... he bobbled it on the way down tho.

I must confess to the board that I've been tricking you. Irish#1 is not real. Never existed. It started out innocent enough, masquerading in the unlikely disguise of a rational ND fan, and then it just started spinning out of control. I was being nice to everyone, showing sportsmanship, and ultimately congratulating you all for a well-deserved victory while still hanging around to answer questions about the game.

It really got out of hand, and I never intended for it to come to this.

This is a complete fabrication, it was me posing as a Notre Dame fan, I have a girlfriend in Tuscaloosa that I met via this board whom became ill, (for posing as a Notre Dame fan) so she dumped me. I am coming clean for the reasons of keeping her, hopefully. By the way.... Awesome Tim! LMAO!!!
