🏈 Committee hearings on the BCS

I just watched "College Football Live" on ESPN. They were showing some of the hearing on there. Some ass-hat from Texas was talking about it is all about money and that is why we don't have a play off system............Hey jerkwad.........glass houses.

How any money grubbing, scum-bag puke of a politician can sit on his high horse and talk down about something is beyond me. Stick to screwing up the country and we will decide what is right or wrong. All it takes is the fans closing their wallets and the BCS will change.

Classic response from the media...

"The timing of this is suspect. Here we are in the health crisis with the pandemic with the swine flu, the economy is in the dumps with people not having jobs, newspapers closing all over the country..."

WTF?

I still think they should put everyone in a conference, even up the conferences, and the winner of each conference play a tourny and the 2 winners play the big game. Then start the bowls starting with runners up and so on. There's PLENTY of options that these douche bags could make happen. They just don't want to bother with it cause they don't think it will benefit them.

And there isn't anything to support the notion it will benefit conferences and schools.

The one area the NCAA doesn't have their hand in the kitty in is football and TV/Bowl contracts.

its hard to tell anything has changed economy wise here in Plano/Frisco...its kinda crazy, but then again, we don't have overpriced houses like Cali, AZ, Nevada, Florida - well, relatively speaking. I know some jobs here are getting cut, but the Dallas/Ft Worth area is pretty well diversified from what i've seen. The spending here is outta control, guess that means houses are soon to be on the market with folks living outside their means...

I know the mortgage industry was hit here pretty hard, but things seemed to have picked up a bit with all the refi's, etc. We took advantage of getting an even lower rate recently.

That's the thing about what we're going through. If you were in pretty good shape financially when it hit there are some really good opportunities, like great housing deals, auto deals, etc.

If only I had listened to Dave Ramsey years ago.

love him. you know, most of his stuff is so simple it's just common sense, but i guess sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees.

we are working on his plan now, just doing it our own way...of course, the refi I think kinda goes against it, but we are "planning" on staying in this house for another 10-15 years.

i can't stand that congress is getting involved in this issue. There is a lot more pressing issues right now rather than worry about the bcs and whether or not they should be able to call the winner of the bcs title game the NATIONAL champs.:swear:

I would like to see an 8 team playoff or every Div. 1 conference champ in a playoff. But congress need to worry about the economy and other thing before this.

The only thing bad about that is, some teams don't even have conference championships. Which in my opinion is not fair to all the conferences that do. That is something else that should be fixed.

Congree sticking its nose into this reminds me of the old one liner: "An elephant is a mouse designed by a government committee." I'd rather have the BCS the way it is now than any system a bunch of political hacks in congress came up with.

Dave advocates paying cash for everything, but as you've probably read, he is a bit more lenient on home purchases because of the amounts of money involved.

He had me almost rolling on the floor during his "Town Hall Meeting for Hope" wnen he labeled the bail outs as bailing out stupidity and the stimulus as stimulating stupidity. Definitely calls it like he sees it.
