šŸ“” Comcast is apparently dropping the B1G Network

GUYS what is the B1G?:rolf:

It's the Big 10's very shitty attempt at branding.
Makes more sense when it's in color.

This is unique, borderline clever with the 11.

Sorry I was joking about the B1G,because if I'm not misstating about this conference it has 14 teams now? On the Wiki it says that
Members 14 + 2 affiliate members Any of you know what two teams are the affiliate?

Purely guessing here with Notre Dame being one. I'd bet on one of the sports being hockey. It should be easy enough to find out.

It's no different than Bama and Tennessee being a part of the Big 12 in rowing.

James Franklin featured in spot reminding fans that Penn State may not air on Big Ten Network for Comcast customers

Lions head coach James Franklin kicks off a new video put out by the conference on Thursday that reminds fans about the ongoing battle, which first entered the public sphere back in July when Big Ten Network and Fox Sports president Mark Silverman launched into an explainer at the conference's media days event which indicated that, unless an agreement is reached, Comcast will drop BTN on Sept. 1 and also won't carry conference games on Fox Sports One.

Gosh, do you think they're reading their lines?

Say what you will about the SECN. If we're looking at all of these college networks the SEC's launch of its network has proven how well it was constructed. The LHN, the B1G's network, and the PAC's network...all pale in comparison to their success.

PAC Network is a complete shit show, the irony is their Commissioner actually paid all his cronies like they're Hollywood execs. How do their performance review discussions go?

Yes, SECN thus far has been a great partnership. ACC will similar as they haven't rushed into this.

I really don't feel too badly for the B1G fans. I realize they'll have to spend a little more money this fall (some have the time and money based on protest at OSU) but it's not that big of a bite. 10 bucks a month gets you coverage of one team, 15 bucks a month delivers access to the entire network--streaming, of course.

It's a little odd for a friend of mind, Penn State fan/alum. She's subscribed to Comcast for cable and Internet...so she'll be streaming the B1G over Comcast's Internet connection.

So may IPTV providers carrying the B1G that any self-respecting fan can easily watch the season and tell Comcast where to put their cable. Just a thought.

Easier said than done if you like other things on cable. That area only has two providers: AT&T U-verse and Comcast (cable, not dish.) It's a bit odd because she lives about three miles from me and I've got access to at least four (haven't looked in a bit, I'm thinking Spectrum is here now as well to make five.)

When it comes to TV viewing, I've learned, to each their own. No way any 2 people think alike on the subject. We have a couple of cable choices around here, Spectrum being one of them. I just got on Directvnow app for a 3-month discount ride and I'm not sure how folks could want more than what's there. The BTN is there for a lot less than Spectrum. Even ROKU gives you the BTN app without a subscription to any IPTV service.

On that note Spectrum just got kicked out of NY so there's another group of fans being left out this fall with Comcast being another main option.

When it comes to Spectrum, my feelings exactly. Comcast and the other bullies on the block depend heavily on people being these same "creatures of habit."

The days of feeling that my cable company is holding me for ransom are long gone. From my 30' outdoor preamp TV antenna to all the choices these IPTV providers are giving us, I'm becoming the ultimate independent TV consumer.
