That would just prolong it a week because they would win in week 4. 1-3 record would get them in Top 15 for sure!! LOL

Once again, Boise is getting 1st place votes. And once again, Boise schedules their only marquee game as the first game of the year and once again, they follow it up with an open Saturday. They did this last year against Va. Tech. Then the Thursday night game that followed was against a scrub. This year, they follow up with a Friday night game against Toledo - who gave OSU a handful, but that's an in-state rivalry thing.

Boise gets all summer to prepare for their one tough game and they knowingly keep the following week open, so they can pull out all stops and not even have to worry about recovering physically for the game next week. Just abject focus on that one game, no need to waste any time even considering preparation for the following game. Georgia, meanwhile, had to play USC the following week. Boise only has one ranked team on their remaining schedule, #23 TCU who probably shouldn't be ranked at all right now.

Before I am willing to give Boise due credit, I need to see them play ranked teams back to back and 3 out of 4 weeks during the middle of the season. Be interesting to see how well they would fare under those conditions. If they win all of those, then I will be duely impressed, but somehow, I don't think they would.

LSU actually received more points this week in the AP poll and still dropped a spot. We picked up 13 points...nothing more than 13 writers moving us up a spot. #1 votes didn't change from week one to week two.

If LSU looks good in beating Miss. State this week that one just might flip flop again next week.

Of course what State did to Memphis does not look as impressive when you see that Arkansas State beat Memphis just as convincingly as the bull pups did.

I'd like to see the top 3-4 SEC schools schedule them the same year.

So Boise would agree to schedule all of their non conference games against the SEC then play 8 (??) conference games? Sorry, I hate the way they schedule as much as everybody (though I do think they should get a chance) but I don't fault them for their geographic location

Exactly what I told an LSU friend of mine. He was giving me the business last week when LSU jumped us in the polls. I told him then that if we beat Penn State and they beat Northwestern State, we'd be back at #2. I also told him that if they beat MSU and we blast North Texas, they'd probably pass us again. It could go like this right down to the November 5 showdown.
