🏈 Coach Saban today.....(Press Conference Video added- Saban upbeat about LSU game)

Ok, I'll admit it. I am a Saban press conference junky. He handles the media exactly the way I would hope an Alabama HFC would. Got to be strong with these guys for such a relatively small state. You would think some of these guys cover the Phillies or something. They can be quite brutal if need be and he keeps them at bey.

Anyway, I don't know when I can recall such a calm Nick Saban before a big game as what I saw today. I hope he is being a reflection of our team's confidence and if that's the case; beware LSU! The guy was absolutely relaxed and said we have had excellent preparation for this game. He seems concerned about the LSU secondary but also said Alabama had been working very hard in the passing game with good results. He also alluded to the fact that the loss of Collin Peek during pregame of the UT game was indeed problematic as some of us speculated. The back up TE's have gotten more snaps in preparation for LSU just in case Peek can't go. He also said Roy Upchurch is ready to go full speed again. That will be a nice change-up for LSU!

This has been a long 2 weeks. I can't wait until Saturday.

I've watched literally every presser he's done since he's been at Bama. To a certain extent, I agree with the "coach speak." But, on the other hand, I have to say that agreement comes with an addendum.

If you listen to what he's saying you can take a whole lot out of his pressers. He has a way of telling what's going on without actually saying it—if that makes sense.

Peek, in my opinion, isn't going to play Saturday. I've heard nothing that gives me the indication he will. But, our other TE's have been getting a lot of snaps these last days in practices and have done well.

From the sound of what has been injured, I believe if Peek took one more slight hit, he would need surgery, and might need it anyway. This is a big, big loss, as opposed to some other positions. It's not that we don't have SOME depth there, but he was such a high performer, as those of us who saw the spring game knew he would be. He's an NFL Tight end.
