Sounds like my little league coach from years ago. He told us we won't always win, but we'll always get another shot. If we win, celebrate. If we lose, work harder to win the next time out. There are no participation trophies in life. I don't care WHAT people say or think about that. It's complete and utter bullshit.

The truth that the coach told them was listened to by their responses. My earliest memory from my grandpa was him telling me that a bag of candy or a pocket knife comes with strings attached. To cut the strings you have to earn them both.
