The NFL has some odd guys as head coaches: look no further than McDaniel at Miami.
I have to say ... something about a guy with a degree in secondary education and the NFL ... just doesn't fit.
@TerryP I understand where you're coming from. Some guys are made for the college game. Some, like Saban, had to go to the NFL to figure it out. Bowden, Paterno, Ferenz, (to name a few) did not. Moving up from NAIA to FBS......if he does win it all at UA, I'm sure there will be some suitors. It is a question of whether or not you want to do it at the next level. With the NIL and tranfer portal, the similarities to the NFL and college very close. I know there still are some significant differences, but the reason Saban came back to college vs staying NFL is not as valid an argument as it was in 2006. I also think it had a lot (not all) to do with him retiring sooner rather than later.
