🏀 Coach Avery Johnson with a message for the fans.

Fans, including me, are going to have to realize this: if the Tide makes the tournament, it's a great season. Hurray. Alabama will never be a school that competes consistently with the big boys. As Saban says, "It is what it is." CAJ will do as well or better than anyone who can or could ever be hired. He's a great ambassador and a good coach. Sign him for a lifetime contract. At the end of the day though - THIS...IS...ALABAMA.

I agree with him .. patience is a virtue.. this is a YOUNG team with the major of FRESHMAN starters .. BAMA has played a demanding schedule for a change and when playing stiff competition , with a young team , flaws will be exposed and loses will happen ....... BAMA just needs to do their job in conference and all will be fine ..

I believe this team can be good , given time to gel .

At this point that's how I see it, too. It's pretty sad, though.

Next year, this team's best player will be in the NBA. 8 Wins and 10 losses this season in the SEC would be great and would put them at 16-14. Loss to Oklahoma, 16-15. One win, one loss in the SEC Tourney, 17-16. NIT

I think CAJ just used the 12 games to try and find a rotation to rely on for the conference schedule. Problem is, Key has just gotten back in these last 2 games and he looks so "out of it or lost!" We played 11 guys the first half against Texas!! 11!!!! Normally, you would 6-8 guys getting the bulk of the minutes. The team is young but the continuity has got to improve. Right now, if I was coaching this team, Sexton, Petty, Ingram, Hall, and Giddens would be my 5, with Reese, Jones, Key/Norris coming off the bench. Problem is, my last 2 are coming back from injuries and haven't looked very good.

I can't think of any reason Key or Norris should ever play, at least not until they prove something in practice or everyone else comes off the bench and gets ejected. Someone can look it up, but I'd bet a steak dinner that this season Key has more turnovers than points and assists COMBINED. Norris can no longer shoot, defend, or rebound.

If CAJ is still experimenting with lineups with the postseason on the line, and that's what this game meant, then he's not half the coach I thought he was. Winning this game would have been beyond huge.

I think you are going a little too harsh on a couple of guys that played significant roles last year. Right now, Norris and Key have looked the part of slow, lost freshmen on the floor, BUT they are coming back from surgeries. I wouldn't touch your bet because it is true.

I hope so, brother. Both of them are absolutely lost, liabilities when they play.

It looks to me like the team does three things: 1)Look for the three, 2)Drive and try to score but not necessarily kick out much, or 3)try to post up when we have the biggest lineup. There's a huge gap on the floor, between the three and the low post, where we do not shoot. A fairly quick team with a big man beats the Tide every time. Quickness takes away 1 and 2, and the big man eliminates the three. I expect CAJ to do some different things, but it may be too late.

Honestly, not as a Tide fan but being honest, do you see this team going 11-7 in SEC play? Without 11-7 this is an NIT team.

Key: 5 turnovers, 2 points and 3 assists (only two games)
