🏈 Clowney

Read this on another board, take it FWIW:

"South Carolina fans should begin to worry. Momma has given her blessing for him to make the jump out of state. I am still not letting myself get too excited, but I do believe he will end up at Bama."

From my barner friend...

"Jlee from rivals posted that Chizik and crew were going to give Bama an off field ass beating in a couple of weeks."

He said this guy is 95% right in his predictions. I tell him that I am sure if those were about Bama, he wouldnt be agreeing so well.

no way i would ever play for Spurrier, he will quit on his team as soon as they get down, i know when they played the Aubbies the second time this year he gave up in the 3rd quarter and started just running the ball

I agree Doe. He has lost alot of that swagger that he possessed in the 90s. I honestly thought that going into the SECCG, SCar would make a serious threat. I had been in contact with Whammy Ward at SCar and they sounded confident. No doubt in my mind that Spurrier mailed it in in the 3rd.

They are going to beat us in recruiting this year. He thinks they are going to steal Cyrus from us and get a visit from Clowney as well.

I don't even think our staff is seriously recruiting Clowney. I think we're focused on Drew, Wright, Florence, and Westerman.

I sort of feel like the Coudjano-Auburn marriage is a mutually beneficial sham.

I think our odds of getting Clowney are the same as SC getting him. Rumph really helps us and I think he is the reason we land Clowney. Cyrus comes to us too I am almost for certain. I also think we pick up at least one surprise on NSD either from somebody that nobody thought we were in the hunt for or we steal a recruit from another school (besides Clowney).

i can see some recruits shying away from us this year because of depth but next year we should be wide open.. the 2010 roster had over 30 juniors listed on it..

And on that note, I think it's important to remember that we won the "recruiting national championship" according to rivals in 2008 and '09 and then we were like 2nd or 3rd in '10, so w/ or w/o getting these major guys that we talk about here, there are athletes that have been maturing and developing waiting for a time like next year when they will have a chance to jump onto the scene-- and thats just one of the many things that we have at our advantage going into next years season...
