🏈 Chris Black Transferring?

I won't bash the kid, but if he was to return, who would he supplant as a starter or get significant touches? Ridley, Stewart, Robert Foster, Cam Sims, etc.
Best of luck to him.

That's one transfer I was speaking of. Big recruit, pre-season chatter about his contributing, played some, but not a first stringer. Alright Birdman, Smart gone, one transfer announced. Not sounding like bullshit as much.

lol and what did I say when you said that bullshit? "We have transfers EVERY year." The way you ORIGINALLY said it made it sound like it was either a starter or big contributor. Not a guy that has played in a total of about 6 games with less than 10 career catches...

Good for him tho, he could transfer out and get a shot somewhere. Hes just gonna stay buried in the depth chart here.

But I had made the comment that it wasn't a Ridley or Henry like player. Not sure how many ways I could put big recruit, pre-season season talk of contribution, yet someone that hasn't seen the field much originally. Yeah, we have transfers every year, but rarely is it someone we have seen on the field and that had such high aspirations. I figured you'do deflect, so that's ok.

You said that after the fact. All you originally said was that "surprising big name players will be transferring." Chris Black might have been an elite prospect four years ago but calling him a big name player would def. be a massive stretch.

He was many people's breakout player and the one that everyone expected to step in for Cooper and make huge contributions. It's easy to say after the fact he's not considered a big name, but he was considered an impact player and a guy everyone was waiting on this year. There are more coming.

There is a massive difference between "people expected" and what happened. Regardless, he is not a big name or contributor on the team. Im sure we see at least one more transfer, of the same level of contributor as Black... Like every year...

I don't blame the kid at all. He see's he likely won't see the field after 4 years, has 1 shot left, and wants to give it a shot elsewhere. He was a big time recruit and never really got consistent playing time, but never openly complained or made a fuss. I respect that. And lastly he's been battling injuries most of his career pretty much since he got on campus... Hopefully he finds success

Changing the subject:

Tyler Love, a 5* recruit on the offensive line spent most of this time at UA injured. Neck, back, you name it ... the boy got banged up when he was putting on his cleats. Love is charatercized as a "bust" in recruiting.

Chris Black, another very highly ranked recruit, spent most of his time at UA injured. But, Black isn't considered a bust?

Wherein lies the difference?
