Good theory because that just might be the impetus to make sure there's only team from each conference and thereby allowing a...uhm...most deserving bucknut team in.

One problem with that. Bama and ND are in. If UF and Clemson win then they are in also. You would have Clemson vs Bama and UF vs ND or Clemson vs UF and Bama vs ND in the CFP. ACC and SEC officiating would probably make sure it winds up that way in the CGs.
The CFP committee doesn't care about who gets into the conference championship games. Their focus is getting the four best teams when all is said and done.

Didn't say they did . What I was saying is that they have a history of having teams in their Top 4 that are playing each other that week. They already have two. Wouldn't surprise me to see them go for all 4.
I for one refuse to laugh at the Gators losing. I will laugh once we win next week, not before. I can see them deciding that beating us will cement their playoff position.
I'd say that depends on next Saturday. If they win, it's for sure they'll get a NY6 bid; MAYBE even a spot in the CFP (other stuff would need to happen, though). But if they lose, it gets iffy for them.

We have a head coach who is affectionately referred to as "Clown Shoes" and his team ends up losing a game where a large part of that is due to a clown in the field with a shoe.
How can you not laugh?
And folks, let's not allow this hot take to go unnoticed.
A two loss Florida team ain't getting in. They lost to a depleted LSU team. Not to mention, LSU is terrible this year. Tony proves yet again he's an idiot.
One of the biggest "suck-ups" to coaches in football? There is no doubt. I have suspected that for years until we actually saw it with how he handled the Freeze story at Ole Miss.
