It's a complicated subject, but college football is not king everywhere. Doesn't Minnesota have an NFL team, NHL team, NBA team, Baseball team? In LA the argument has always been there's just so much to do that people seldom go all out for any one sport.

Look at ticket prices....concession prices...parking...
Poor seats...crap games.......
If its not premium entertainment and affordable....you aint getting full house....
Sure you got 80%...but that other 20%is hard to get...
Ever heard of 80-20 rule.....

JMO but once this generation of Paul Bryant Jr's and Jim Wilson Jr's move along I am not sure the younger folks coming along will spend their childrens money on Keeping Bama ahead of the Jone's. The young folks might not be into football like those of that have already traveled the road. We'll see.

It's been said that football is a game of inches but I believe watching the game is also a game of inches. 40 + in of TV put you on the 50 yard line on every play. That's pretty hard to compete against. You know those inches keep growing year-by-year as cost of those inches go down down down.

Tailgating is fine and some of the folks just go tailgating only. there is also a lot of competition For Your Entertainment dollar.

Just really hard to justify hundreds/thousands of dollars for one or two games a year I might could actually go to. Especially when I can sit home, watch the games in HD with my whole family, and spend that money on something else.

At home Notre Dame didn't have a sell-out against Michigan. If I recall correctly they were about 4K short.

@TerryP ...nd without a sellout......really..wow...the little I watched they talked about how Michigan fans were buying up the tickets..like UGA did.
Guess they didnt buy em all up..
