šŸ€ CBB coaches arrested in FBS corruption investigation (AU, UL, USC, AZ, and Miami among teams cited)

There wouldn't be any bribery if players could just legally sign with the agent, instead of using an assistant to bribe players for future access....

Got me?
Sure, I got ya. That would create an unbalanced recruiting trail for 100's of D1 schools in basketball alone. You know damn well there would be a lot more agents around schools like USC (as one example) than there would be around Utah.

But, the bribery here would still exist. It's company(s) and agent(s) to coaches right now with the players as a side note.

True... Because Bribery exists everywhere money is involved. Guarantee you Nick Saban didn't sign with Jimmy Sexton for his good looks

Bottom line is other talented people are allowed to do what they want to do at 18. Models/Singers/Actors be makin' that monaaaaay and getting great advances & checks before and after proving themselves.

Football and basketball players via the NCAA are forced to wait their turn due to greedy administrators/coaches/veterans in their career field. It is what it is...

Not saying there's an easy fix but let's be real. Bribery for representation/business dealings happen in every form of business all the way down to golf or lunch outings with your insurance reps.

NCAA is just all around silly IMO.

A force on the recruiting trail, Person helped Auburn land three of the best signing classes in program history in 2015, 2016, which included Auburn's first five-star recruit in history in Mustapha Heron and six four-star recruits, and 2017, which was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation with a five-star and two four-stars before 17-year-old Austin Wiley enrolled in Auburn in December.

Wiley was Auburn's second five-star in history, both coming in consecutive classes. The 2015 class would be ranked as high as 10th-best in the nation and was graded as an A-minus by ESPN. The 2016 class was ranked 25th.

"They were tremendous. They have great chemistry between the two of them," said the SEC Network's John Pelphrey of head coach Bruce Pearl and Person. "They are a dynamic tandem right now in recruiting and coaching."

Entrapment? Does uat have some lawyers that have made it up to the FBI that came up with this scheme to entrap some coaches by bribing them to steer players to an agent. Or was this already going on and the FBI gave the witness the choice to cooperate or to go to jail. So he cooperates and continues to lure in Chuck and other coaches into the scheme. Either way Chuck totally screwed over AU, the players, and the fans who have supported him. Especailly those that already contributed and paid for their season tickets. Now AU will be without their best 2 players and back to the bottom of the SEC. Which brings me back to my first sentence and uat involvement. Just pure chance that the teams that have been taking down uat in Fball (Ole Miss) and Bball (AU) are now in serious hot water with the NCAA, and that uat has lawyers in the position to make that happen?

This has NOTHING to do with the NCAA; yet.

Hell, they have these guys on tape saying it's an NCAA violation...so, that's coming.

Has everything to do with the NCAA...

Why are the agents using assistant coaches to bribe? Instead of just signing these talented individuals and paying them for their current & potential worth like any other entertainment industry?

C'mon now...

I just listened to about a three minute segment from the NY Atty Gen. in charge of this investigation. I'd swear I heard Person's name more than a dozen times.

Over on the AU board of SECrant.

We are the Ole Miss of basketball. Son of a bitch!!

Being charged with what the Atty Gen links to "human trafficking" under Federal law ... a bit of a bigger picture than a kid getting a loan from a agent.

Believe it or not.... It's EXTREMELY connected.

Who do you think these African kids are playing AAU basketball with? Why those programs? What schools they're going to? Why are they going there?

Again... C'mon now
