šŸ€ CBB coaches arrested in FBS corruption investigation (AU, UL, USC, AZ, and Miami among teams cited)

Not good news for the Tiders. Can't lie... Avery seemed a little uneasy yesterday when asked about it. Eeeeeesh

I imagine EVERY basketball coach in the college ranks has a puckered asshole after this news broke. Everyone knew of the seedy dealing of AAU basketball and that to compete, you had to have some type of inroads with it.
I would think they are all distancing themselves from AAU ball at this time, just like a rogue booster.

OH GOSH...... Breaking News

Alabama administrator resigns amid FBI investigation

Alabama basketball administrator Kobie Baker has resigned as the result of a university investigation following the Federal investigation into fraud and corruption in the NCAA, the school announced Wednesday.

"Our review has not identified any NCAA or SEC rules violations, nor the involvement of any other coach or staff member," athletic director Greg Byrne said in a statement.

In the statement Byrne also said the school has notified the NCAA and the SEC of the internal investigation, and the school "will continue to be proactive" in it's compliance.

Baker had previously worked for the NCAA, as assistant director of enforcement for basketball development and as the associate director of amateurism certification.

On Tuesday, the FBI arrested four assistant coaches in connection to a fraud and corruption scheme that also identified Adidas head of sports marketing James Gatto. Louisville has placed coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich on leave, and both are expected to be fired due to the school's relation to the investigation.

Gee, thanks!

I sure didn't see a 3 page thread discussing this topic...lol.

Eh... Impossible to "distance themselves from AAU". Every single recruitable player in America plays AAU.

To keep it real there's about 365 D1 schools. About 250 of those schools are fighting for scraps. Haves and have-not's. Adidas and Nike aren't paying kids to go to Colorado State or UAB. And agents are giving thousands of dollars for average guards...That's for sure. Most schools are probably enjoying the hell out of this actually...
