I really think that Auburn is in SOOO DEEEEP, that they will NOT change coarse to try to save the University! Instead I believe they will continue to DENY and Ride the SINKING SHIP ALL The WAY TO THE BOTTOM...Honestly, How could they change their story now? By the way, I'm sick of hearing what a great kid he is.....

Think about it, what does Auburn really have to lose? They are already conditioned to celebrating mythical NC, might as well add another . . . except it ain't gonna happen. Auburn's run for the NC will come to an end at the Iron Bowl, if Georgia don't hunker down on them first.

While the headline makes for a good title, this is the pertinent information. Based on past precedent the NCAA could ask Newton to sit. Could...not will.

The NCAA has had all of this information for quite some time. I still say if they were going to ask him to sit, they would've already done so. Again, how quickly did they say Dareus, the UNC players and Green had to sit? With the agent scenarios (oh how quickly you guys have forgotten your offseason) the NCAA will be quicker to jump on this because they took so much flack from Bush. This writer was stating what could happen. I could buy a web domain and write a blog saying the NCAA could force MSU to vacate their wins for this season for dealings with an agent. It wouldn't be any more or less true than the article from Yahoo. At this point, none of this is anything but rumor an conjecture. Until phone records showing Cam/Cecil actually spoke to people or this mythical recording surfaces there is zero proof. Maybe he did it, and if he did I'll be pissed. However, I will not crucify a young man until there is actually proof. Joe Schad has said his report cites "several sources citing seveal sources." That seems legit.

I usually don't post intentionally inflammatory statements, but really? Auburn has a history of claiming MNCs? A school that claims one?

Yes, Auburn fans are rightfully bitter that we didn't get a shot in 83, 04 and 93 (although 93 was our fault). The school doesn't hang flags and build statues out front for those seasons.

Yes, I realized I've probably angered most and I'm sure there will be some "witty" responses--irrelevant. Don't talk about a school claiming BS national titles because some of its fans do when four of your titles are legitimately disputed. The SEC and ESPN recognize 8. I'm not arguing the legitimacy of any claim. I'm simply saying it is ridiculous to say Auburn fans cling to MNCs when Bama has banners flying from titles awarded years after the fact. And who can forget the 41 season where you finished 20th in the AP poll.

Anyway, back to Cam...

IMO, at this point, what would be the purpose in sitting him even if all of this is true? He's played all season under the same circumstances. It just wasn't known to anyone but the SEC, NCAA, Auburn, and MSU. Why not go for broke?

Oh my gosh, seriously. Remember this is an Alabama board. Feel free to keep telling us about Auburn but leave the Alabama info to us, aight? You seem like a good guy, but no need to take your frustration out in such a ridiculous post.

BTW, you do realize much of your fanbase recognizes 2004 as a national championship season via People's Choice right?
 
If the NCAA recommends it, I think it would probably be best if they do, but if they don't recommend it, they will play him ( which will probably come to bite them in the end)
