🏈 Can we run the ball on ND?

Let me start out by saying we ran the ball for 350 yards against jawja. For some reason or other i dont think we can run the ball for like that against the nd defensive front. I think their game plan will be to shut down our run and make AJ beat them by throwing the ball. I'm not saying AJ cant do that. I think we'll have to have more efficiency from AJ as a qb to win the game. Whats your input? Whats your ideas on this ? The way i see this, it will be a very close ball game. I hope I'm wrong, i hope we can run the ball at will. If we can I'm sure we will win.

i think we'll have good success running the ball. even 4-5 yards and a pile of dust is success to me though. we may not gash them for 10+ yards like we did against uga so many times, but i think it will be relatively consistent.

i do agree that, for us, AJ is the game make/breaker. similar to the tamu and lsu games, he will be under a good bit of pressure to make the plays on 3rd down to keep the ball. that will be big in this game if it turns into a field position thing, but i don't think it will.

i think Bama dominates in this one... i don't think ND has seen any team that remotely resembles Alabama this season... shell shock.

Remember how good Texas was against the run, both our RB's clipped 100 yds on the ground. Texas was #1 in the nation against the run.

We are sitting on two backs who've gained 1000 yds each for the season. If our offensive line sets their mind to it, we will run and run hard. I like the idea of us running against them, strength vs strength.

On paper, Stanford's Taylor ran for 102 against Notre Dame and only averaged 3.6 ypc - he averaged 4.8 ypc for the season. Our backs average ~2 ypc more at 6.4yds Lacy, and 6.5yds with Yeldon. Stanford also doesn't have a 1-2 punch w/ running backs either.

Possibly today, I'll watch the Stanford vs Notre Dame game to get an idea of how Notre Dame looks against a running team.

I believe we can run the ball effectively, but not dominantly. This ND front is pretty good, almost as good as LSU's last year. We'll have to keep a very balanced offense to keep them guessing.

Will Alabama be able to run effectively against Notre Dame's Defense?

No, we will have to establish the passing game first in order to loosen up Notre Dame's Defense

I wouldn't put them in the same sentence.

Their starting front three would play a lot on teams in the SEC. However, I consider LSU's defense to be the best in college football this year—possibly last year as well. LSU is on a different level.

Are they as good as UGA's defensive line this season? Maybe.
