What does CNS have to loose? If he brings Freeze and Lyle both in as OA's give them a couple years of rehab, if they see just a couple things that could help the team, it would be worth it for Bama and for them maybe set them up for a rehab gig? with the $$ they are collecting from UT ( know that Freeze will not be collecting from OM) it really wont be costing much and in reality why not bring in guys of this caliber into the braintrust?

Would never doubt his intentions. Hell, if Saban announced that he was bringing in a death row inmate, I would simply shrug and say "Aight".
I just have never looked at Butch and thought to myself "offensive genius"

JMO but it would be a good deal for Butch to come spend a year at Bama while 10RC pays his tab. Butch to get his PHD in Football at the Nick Saban School of Football (paid for by 10RC).........winning.........bigly

I thought one of his attributes was Butch's organizational skills. Coach Saban loves that stuff. I remember Saban praising Sark for his organizational talents and he suddenly becomes the OC. Daboll was often complimented for his ability to have things organized too. I just think it's a big deal with Saban. Maybe that's Butch's primary calling card.

"Offensive genius" is not in the job description for the analyst role. It's one of the lowest paid roles on the staff.

I've seen reference to him receiving 40K per year from UA (puts him at 2.36 million annually with UT's buyout.)

The buyout from UT is reduced by any amount Alabama would pay. $40k off of $2+ million is a deckchair off the Titanic. Butch doesn't get $40k PLUS his UT buyout.
