By my count, knowing I'm likely missing someone.

First time starters:

DE- Allen
MLB- Foster
WILL- Ragland
DE- Pettway
LT- Cam Robinson
QB- Sims
...

I guess we could call Griffith a first time starter. Definitely could with J.K. Scott.

True frosh:

Evans and Hamilton in the linebacking corps, Hand on the defensive line, Sims with the wide receivers, and Brown on special teams.

The one concern I had with him had to do with run blocking. He did very well there.

No sacks as a group on the OL Saturday.

part of that praise goes to Sims, too. he did a pretty good job of scrambling away from the pursuit. but yes, the OL not allowing a sack in the opening game is definitely a good thing.

Sims did side-step a few rushers. I thought Griese made more of a deal over it than it truly was (and I mean no slight on Blake by saying that.)

A couple of times, Blake avoided what would've been automatic sacks with past QBs. Often times in the past, our QBs would've just squatted and ate the ball. I do think that there may have been some miscommunication that may have resulted in a free rusher. Again, correctible mistake.

He did a great job eluding pressure and I think he and the receivers will improve on the backyard football action that takes place during scrambling. That hasn't been a big part of bama's game in a long time.
