🏈 Bryce Young Wins 2021 Heisman Memorial Trophy

He may have "fell behind" against LSU but that performance Saturday likely caught him back up. If he destroys Auburn and then has a huge game against Georgia (doubtful) he wins it IMO.

As alluded to in the thread already... a lot of voters are going to use the SECCG, like they did 3 years ago (when Tua went into the game the favorite), to justify what they already want to do. Now, Young could go in there and throw for 400 and 4 TD's and muddy the water, but that's unlikely. My issue is, people are going to use that game and only that game as the basis for their vote, which is wrong (regardless of the performance of Young). Stroud is playing great football too and is peaking at the right time, but what would his numbers look like against UGA in that setting? Add to that, last year, all we heard about was how Mac was only elite because he was surrounded by elite playmakers. Well, guess who else is? Stroud. Personally, I think that's a dumb argument... just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Stroud will be humbled by Michigan. I love how voters are forgetting he was sat that one game because he wasn't performing well, and they used it as a chance to ket him reset. Bryce has carried our offense while Stroud has been carried by Olave, Wilson, and Henderson.

Why dont you think he can have great games vs uga,...
Not doubting you .... just curious

Uga D is very good...but bama O is also

Georgia's D is built for Bama's offense. A gigantic defensive line that will manhandle a weak o-line. They don't have to bring a ton of blitzes (and it spells doom for any defense that blitzes Young anyway) and their DBs don't get beat often. If the o-line is able to hang in there and get some room for the running game and gives Bryce enough time (and if he is patient enough) to just start picking them apart with what's available (dont get desperate and reach for the long ball right away). Then, that could force Georgia to bring extra guys to get pressure and then he can start really doing some damage. I think we'll probably see a lot of NASCAR ball to try and tire out their defense too but that can also burn your own defense. It just comes down to the lines for me. I believe Georgia's defensive line is far superior to Alabama's offensive line, and to the point it's not even close. I don't think this game will be close.

Well....ok...then....
Coming to line play...is usually IT....

But i think it comes to QB play......BY doesnt get rattled....uga qb...may...

But...have to have time...and our backend of D is worrisome....

Again ....getting up on them would be hugh....bama been in fist fights...uga has not......

Cant wait....need a great game vs AU first

They will be forced to blitz with Williams and Metchie. Their secondary hasn't been challenged outside of Tennessee, and Tennessee drove on them. Georgia's speed at linebacker is their success. They will blitz the hell out of them or Bruce picks them a part. Dean and Tindall will destroy any bubble routes we run, so we gotta get North and South. It can be done, but we gotta play tge Ole Miss game basically.

Bama fatigue and Oklahoma's guys are flat out of it at this point to stop Bryce from winning. Bryce is 71.7% completion for 3,584 yards, 38 TD and 3 INT and sacked 26 times as well as 57 rushes for 14 yards and 2 TD. Stroud is 71.2% completion for 3,468 yards, 36 TD, 5 INT and sacked 9 times as well as 25 rushes for 0 yards and 0 TD. Note that Stroud did not record any stats in one game against Akron as he did not play at all.
Like you said. Alabama fatigue. Apple to apples Bryce numbers are just as good as Stroud. I think because Bama goes out with the lunch pail mentality and it isn't always sexy they try to take credit away from some of the players.

If they blitz regularly, Bryce will eat them alive.

I'm sold on Bryce Young. I have been sold on him since I watched him and DJ go against each other in high school. I am not sold on him being able to eat them alive if they blitz regularly with the line play and running back pick ups we've seen. With as fast as I've seen their guys stunt and blitz, I wonder if he'd even have a chance to hurt them. LSU blitzed a lot and we did not have as many answers as I had hoped. Not saying it's impossible, but they don't miss tackles and are laterally fast, so I just wonder how Bryce could beat them unless we have that dump off ready to rock and roll from the first snap. Heck, I hope he eats them up no matter what they throw at us, but we better have Bolden, Latu, and Billingsly ready to play, because even blitzing Tindall or Dean, we better be ready for the opposite to make a play too. Dean took one to the house while in coverage against Florida to open that one wide open.

Or osu QB...be fun to watch
I think it is more critical for BY because CJ has the media momentum going into the last two games. Like it or not when certain personalities start promoting a particular player it influences voters. BY may have to show out so much even those personalities cannot deny it. Seems like they have been looking to find someone else all year anyway.

Of course I would hate it for BY but I will trade all of it for a W this weekend and next. First things first drill the Barn.
