Looks like we have two guys in the final five for the Nagurski award this year, for the nations best defensive player. But don't get your hopes up, A 'Bama player has never taken home the trophy. We've likely had the most candidates make the final five over the past 10 years as we have a representative at the dinner ceremony most every year. Really proud as heck to have Foster and Allen coming this year! But it's a shame that in 23 years of the trophy, no Alabama player has won it. We've sent many a stud to this ceremony. Heck, only two SEC players have won the award. Look at how many great SEC defensive players have come through over the past 23 years, and how many NFL rookie defensive player of the years came though. No surprise that the ACC has nine past winners and two of the candidates again this year. It is the Charlotte Touchdown Club... Look for the Clemson or FSU player to win.
