šŸˆ Broken.

Bryce is clearly blind if he thought this team was "locked in" and "mentally focused".
A leader like Bryce will create that unified front for the media and folks like us. They all probably felt good after a week off.

I go back to my comments over a week ago about resetting, getting away from football, only to also mention guys doing NIL stuff a week ago today and wondering if our minds were really focused on a title run or the bag as they like to say.

This team reminds me of 2010. Big time under-performers. Only this time the players are getting paid a bunch of cheese for it. We lost to LSU and the Barn that year. Uh oh, Barn is still to come this year
Shoot, we had NFL starters everywhere on both sides of the ball in 2010. We had key injuries for most of that season, and it all finally came together when we raped the co-champs of the BigTen in the bowl game.

This season I don't know if we have any players who would start for Georgia. Maybe Bryce.

Bama has lost the hunger and the drive that made them champions … and I’m not just talking about the players. We’ve all heard pundits talk about the more mellow Saban and we’ve all seen the commercials, the interviews and have read about all of his other business ventures. I get it … he’s in his 70’s and it’s hard to maintain the intensity that drove himself and his teams to win six NC’s. Of course, with the players it’s not just rat poison that makes them lose focus … it’s also the NIL and all that entails. If Saban can’t tap back into what made him the GOAT I imagine he will retire sooner rather than later. Whatever’s happening to Bama starts and ends with Saban.

Which, to me, begs the question.....

Who's next? Who do you get to follow up what he's done at BAMA?

1982 all over, again.

1982 all over,

Look, I don’t want Saban to leave … ever. I want him to coach until he dies of old age. I’m saying he will retire as soon as he feels he’s no longer capable of winning NC’s. He’s said that in so many words many times. For him to win championships though something has to change. This team doesn’t even look like the 2010 team to me. It looks more like the 2007 team. Players consistently unsure of what they’re doing, coaches being routinely out coached and other teams having no fear of playing Bama.

I said this in a recent thread, but I can't really blame anyone or anything for what's happening to our program. There hasn't been a more volatile 15-year period in the sport than his tenure at Bama. And to see him adjust as much as he has and remain as consistent as he has is insane. He deserves the title of GOAT not only for what he's done but also for when he did it (i.e. arguably the most tumultuous era in the sport).

Nobody can be sure who would be next at this point, but I'm fairly certain he has a lifelong contract. Let him coach until he dies if he wants, the man has earned our respect and that right.

I do agree this looks more like a Shula recruited team than a Saban recruited team. I am struggling to even see positives for next year. I just see more and more holes in our defense/offense for next year. I see very little to no play makers, the defense has some solid Dline prospects but the back end of our defense could not either play or be coached much worse at this point. Just watch Georgia vs UT and the difference the DBs at Georgia covered UT vs ours. They manned up, played tough and physical at the line and locked in on the ball when it was in the air. Our DBs cover by watching the receivers body and eyes and almost never key off the QB. We play safe "not to lose" kind of defense and we constantly get beat in zone coverage because we love the same soft zone on 3rd and long that is wide open over the middle.
