Let's be honest. The team is still good, just not elite. This isn't a full indication that Saban is done and we should move on at all. I do think he needs to re-evaluate Golding and O'Brien for sure, and probably a few position coaches also. But there is also the problem of keeping players motivated. This team should have had their Come to Jesus moment at Texas but if not there then at Tennessee for sure. They obviously didn't. Things need to be rebuilt.

Pretty much what I've been saying (not on here, but to other people that I talk to in person).

I think after this season we'll see a sort of "house cleaning" take place where we get a new OC, a new DC, some new position coaches, and other position coaches being HEAVILY evaluated with a "Tell me why I should keep you employed here" type of interview.

The playoffs are out, we know that at this point. But the SEC West is still in play. If BAMA beat both Ole Miss and Auburn, and LSU loses to either Arkansas or aTm, then we're in at Atlanta. And even if we win that, we still won't make the playoffs. But we'll be in good shape for a NY1 bowl.

HOWEVER.....I don't see LSU losing to either of those teams. They should beat both of them soundly. The only glimmer of hope for me is both are away for LSU. Hopefully aTm can off a big upset in their house and help us out along the way.

And the big question for BAMA, now, is next week. Ole Miss is no pushover and Lane Kiffin will be looking to prove himself against his former boss. And Ole Miss' only loss is to LSU.

I think the Whos only have 1 SEC loss, so they would have to lose both Ark. & A&M.
But I do agree with your predictions about the program. I don’t think CNS had lost his fire, or his understanding of what it takes to win. I look for changes & continued success.

You're correct. I read the stats wrong, lol.

Either way, it's not going to happen unless both ARK and aTm have the games of their lives.

I dont think you understand what I'm saying. Sunday was likely an off day from team activities, hence why Anderson was able to be at a signing and the RBs held a youth camp.
I was thinking the leader of the team might want set an example and take in more game tape of the Who's. It was a critical game coming up that Bama needed to set the tone for the rest of the season. I am sure he had the day off but more game tape couldn't have hurt.

Bama has lost the hunger and the drive that made them champions … and I’m not just talking about the players. We’ve all heard pundits talk about the more mellow Saban and we’ve all seen the commercials, the interviews and have read about all of his other business ventures. I get it … he’s in his 70’s and it’s hard to maintain the intensity that drove himself and his teams to win six NC’s. Of course, with the players it’s not just rat poison that makes them lose focus … it’s also the NIL and all that entails. If Saban can’t tap back into what made him the GOAT I imagine he will retire sooner rather than later. Whatever’s happening to Bama starts and ends with Saban.
Exactly! I'm so sick of his new way of coaching as he put it. Light a fire under their butts and stop with the woke/coddling crap!!!!! Fire some people if you need to!!!! A lot of POOR coaching decisions!!!! I want the screaming, up in your grill, throwing head phones Saban. Stop trying to appease and keep players from leaving crap!!!! If the spoiled pansies don't want to play, bench them or send them packing!!!!! I'm sure there are plenty of hungry players on the sideline that want the opportunity to play for BAMA. This NIL is BS!!!! A few select players make bank while the other players get nothing. They couldn't do what they do without their teammates. Saban is paid millions to coach. You can't have your hat in multiple places and perfect them all. Choose one and do the job right!!!! He's paid millions to do that job. If football is his life, he should make it his life. He can do commercials and whatever else when he decides to stop coaching. That's the problem!!!! Is there ever a limit on how much these people want to make?

I 100% agree with you. Even with an off day, after all the media comments, Death Valley coming up, season being on the line, all that talk aboutvteams stepping on the field with him, you think focus would be primarily on the game. NIL man, I'm telling you. It's all about the money anymore to the big dogs, for the most part.

After having time to reflect from Saturday nights game in Baton Rouge, here is what I see:
1. We do not have a dominant big man on the defensive line that can get the push needed. We see no center/guard combo blocks or guard/tackle combo blocks on the interior line.
2. Anderson gets pressure but just seems to be a little late. The edge rusher is easier to scheme against IMO because your offense can move people around to open areas.
3. DB's cannot cover forever when a QB has time to drop back for a full course meal with dessert. Again, see DL. When we do get some pressure, it seems like our DB's or LB's blow a 3rd and long situation more than they cover it. Just my opinion.
4. Our OL is simply not very consistent at all with run plays. IMO, Steen has been a disappointment at LT. We do not dominate and push anybody off the ball.
5. Play calling is horrendous IMO. Never have been a fan of BOB (look at Penn St. and Houston of the NFL)
6. BY is still hurting from his injury earlier in the year. His passes are off target and IMO, that is due to a lack of reps in practice.
7. Back to the OC. We do not try to shorten the passing game with slants, quick hitters or passes to the TE. We continue to try to throw deep with WR's that have not gotten separation all year.

In closing, this is football and I get it that sometimes you have a down year(s) but to me, it looks like some of the guys are going through the motions on the filed. Yes, I am disappointed and upset but I will continue to root for the Tide every game. I think CNS will make changes but he cannot do it until the end of the season.

Excellent points & an excellent post!
I especially agree with points 1,5,6,& 7. He’ll I fully agree with all of them.
I think the biggest differences between UGA & Bama defense is scheme and the fact that we have ā€œgood ā€œ interior lineman ang UGA has elite interior DL.

I don't think Georgia has an elite defensive line, I think they just let their linebackers play and they go hard 110% of the time. They have a hunger our guys don't. Alabama is too mainstream now like our favorite artist after they get a taste of the celebrity life. Georgia is trying to get there and you can tell by their fire.
