SPRINGVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) – Imagine living the American Dream with no limitations. Now, imagine a child that faces many obstacles: like neglect, abandonment and no home or family. Both scenarios are very real. One father passes the torch of that American Spirit to his son to help children live the lives of their dreams.

Brodie Croyle lived the Alabama dream of being the quarterback for the University of Alabama. He was also drafted in the NFL. However, Brodie starts a new season taking over his family’s dream of leading Big Oak Ranch, a home for abandoned children.

It started with his father, John. He was also a star football player who turned to a unique vision of building the ranch for girls and boys. Now, 42 years later, he passes the directorship to his son, Brodie.
