šŸˆ Breakout player of the year -2015 (last year's thread)

I could say Henry is the best rb in the SEC, but it wouldn't be based on anything I've seen so far.

Chubb, Fournette were all closely grouped. The other 2 got to start for their teams, so they got many more carries. Those 2 also ran out of I formation, heavily ground based offenses. Both had OLs that were very good, physical run blocking OLs. Henry operated as a backup and didn't have those other advantages. When he's had any semblance of blocking he's been devastating. And he is a good receiver, as another poster mentioned.

Henry does need to show he can run between the tackles consistently. He has yet to eclipse 1000 yards. It would appear Lane has caused some of this as his averages are pretty damn solid. I think Chubb has outperformed Henry on a weekly level though. Of course we have played tougher competition as well.
He needs to prove jack shit. The coaches need to prove they know how to use him. So far they haven't. He is the Student Body. He is the Screen Pass.

Herschel Walker won the Heisman and didn't run between the tackles. Sweep left. Sweep right all the way to Glory.

This.

It's hard to argue with Henry's ypc avg, but I don't think he's as good a runner as Chubb or Fournette. I guess it doesn't matter when you get 15+ yrds every other carry.
Hard to get as many carries when you're splitting time behind a RB that's gonna start in the NFL. Chubb only got meaningful snaps because Gurley got hurt.

I am not saying Chubb is mediocre. He's a great back in a running system. UGA has great run blocking linemen. Fournette is a great back as well on a team that doesn't have a QB.
Henry stood out on a team with a starting NFL ready RB in Yeldon and a Belitnikoff winning WR that was the focus of the offense.

Chubb and Fournette are the offense for their respective teams.

Haven't yall heard? Roc Thomas is the best RB in the conference... he just hasn't gotten his chance yet is all

Georgia hasn't had a line worth a shit in years, so I'm calling BS on that front. Chubb didn't start till halfway through the season and still had to split some carries, just like Fournette. if anything, He ry has had the better line than any of them.

Herschel did it all, not only sweeps right and left. Hence Herschel over the top and his ability to score from anywhere.

Henry still has to prove multiple aspects of his game. The guys is big, fast, and has plenty of talent, but I'd rather have Yeldon back if I had a choice. I think he'll have a hell of a year, and I hope he wins the Heisman and everything that comes with those stats.

LOL, that's funny. Chubb had huge holes to run through the whole year. He's a great back, but he had a better line, a run first offense in the I formation. And everyone shares carries to some extent, but Chubb started a bunch of games as Gurley was first suspended, then came back, then got injured.

LSU had several maulers on their OL and were devoted to running the ball, as always.

Half the runs Chubb broke on his own and ran through tackles. I watched every Georgia game with my dad, so I know what I saw. Yeah, they were a college offensive line, but they were bottom half in the SEC line wise.

Yeah, all 1,500 yards were due to the best blocking college football has ever seen. He wasn't touched for the first eight yards of every carry. Dawgs were tough and those three losses weren't indicative of that badass offensive line.

I see you've gone the strawman route - didn't want to stick with the "I watched all the games with dad"?

I clicked on the first 4 Chubb highlights I saw from ESPN, and each one is a Power O or pitch where he's got a huge hole and not touched for the first 5+ yards past the LOS. He's a great back, but he had more big holes than the 2014 Alabama backs did.
