How does this help anybody? I think they should have went to the Pac10. I know the Pac10 hasn't invited them, but I think they should have.

Local discussion is to expect Utah to go to the PAC10 if all the TX schools either don't move collectively or rebuild the Big12

They shot themselves in the foot by not aligning with a major conference. With all these super conferences becoming a reality, if you arent a part of them you basically have no shot at a BCS NC. But I cant help but think that some surprises will come out before it is all over with.

With the Mountain West positioned to grow into a 16-team conference (albeit with teams of little relative clout), the MWC would be positioned to get an automatic bid, something that Boise does not have a shot at currently in the WAC.

So to answer the question of WHY the joined the MWC, because it is their best options.

So, Boise State goes to a conference that is going to get an automatic BCS bid, I can understand that. What I cant understand is, why go to a conference that, even if you run the table, you will always be left out if there are undfeted teams in the real big three SEC, Big 10/12/16/20/25, PAC 10/12/16/20/25.
I guess the big conferences wouldnt invite them to join for fear of getting whooped?
