UL will go after Purdue coach Jeff Brohm. I hope he stays at Purdue, what he has going on there is a good thing and it’s a better job than UL, IMO.

Radio today said Brohm was the top candidate, BUT mentioned the budget crisis in being able to afford him. Buyout for Bobby, no stadium sponsor (after several years with Papa Johns), need to upgrade facilities, basketball program reeling, etc., etc.

If I was Brohm, I would stay away from UL until many of the problems are fixed.

@OldPlayer, They had to dip into their reserves to pay the buyout to get Mack from Xavier. And, then we've also got the "pay-off" to get Jurich out of their house (I think that was 4.5mm.)

One thing to note about UL right now...when Jurich was fired, Petrino's buyout was cut in half. It's in the 4-4.5mm area.

No. They announced in the summer his name was off the stadium. The only "name brand" sponsor I can think of (outside the normal ones) is KFC on the basketball arena.

UL is a mess and I would not want to be the coach their in football or basketball. IMO, Purdue is a better job. Brohm is doing a good job and building a competitive program in the big 10 west.
