🏈 Birmingham Iron suffers 1st loss to the San Antonio Commanders 12-11.

I didn't even go this week. My wife has panic attacks with bad weather, so there was no chance of me making that trip. That goal line stand was pretty special but there are so many problems on offense right now.

The offensive line is just plain terrible and with all of the injuries its just going to get worse. Perez looked absolutely lost out there and he really seems like he's regressed on his deep throws. He had Patton open twice on go routes where he absolutely baptized the defensive backs but the passes were unbelievably underthrown. Richardson and Perkins were hit in the backfield on almost every carry. I've said before I think Richardson's vision has gotten a lot better, but honestly its hard to tell because of how often there isn't even a hint of a hole or crease to run through. It looked like Ross really might give them a boost with the way he was able to use his quickness to get to the outside, that may be the only chance they have at running the ball, but then he had the fumble that pretty much cost them the game.

I remember going to Bama vs VT for homecoming (Don Strock was their QB) and it was cold as hell with some drizzle. That might have been the worse conditions I have as a Bama fan.
Might be a good topic for off season @JoseyWalesTheOutlaw ...
Worse conditions ever to sit through...
Would be hard to beat...va tech at Nashville in music city....sub freezing and wind a zillion mph...
.or usm in Birmingham...when it rained ...what, 3-5 inches during game,...Coach Frans years..
Houston...i think....in BD on east side and 100+ degree late September...

I easily remember the most dangerous, 94, vs Ole Miss. Lightning cracking all over the place and TV and the SEC didn't have an idea when enough was enough. Sherman Williams and Bama players took turns fumbling the ball all over the place. Thank goodness the refs finally got it stopped and we went on to get the win.

I have a question... I sitting here watching the Iron play Orlando and with the O-line and wondering where Blake Sims is .....

Literally as I’m writing this post the iron bring in th 2nd sting QB and still no Sims it a guy named Keith price who played in CFL and Washington in college .

Is Blake a third string QB to these two guys ? Both seems to have such limited success in big time football as Blake . I know the CFL is semi pro but the rules are so different it just seems Blake would have a head start being at BAMA and is very mobile to help the line ....

Anyone have any insight ?
