Of all the pictures of him with a hat, you would have to agree that that photo is very rare.

It seems as tho he preferred the other style (or the style that is popular today just simply wasnt popular then) but I highly doubt Sports Illustrated altered the hat to look like that in the 60's...

Do you think they wouldn't alter a picture back then. All magazines did it. it was called air brushing. Look at some of the old playmates pictures. They didn't have real parts, but I liked the way they altered them. That photo was altered in other ways with airbrushing, so I can start a conspiracy theory. It is all for fun anyway.

I still don't know how the little houndstooth was chosen over the bigger checkerboard style.
