šŸˆ BDS Upgrade? Will UA reduce seating? (UPDATE: UA adds new cell towers to BDS)

I received a questionnaire asking my thoughts on a number of potential upgrades to Bryant-Denny. A West stands upgrade that would include West Upper Level Club Seats, some field level options, and expanded open air, covered boxes with club access. Also expanded luxury boxes. Some look really neat.

They also asked for a number of opinions of the current BDS. Concourse flow when there is a peak concession wait drives me crazy in the upper deck. I've always thought if they had a single queue for each concession stand instead of parallel lines they could reserve a six or eight foot passage so traffic could move better. Sort of a Disney rope and post set up, but a setup that would be removable before the end of the game to preserve maximum post-game flow.

RTR,

Tim

Received my email this morning as well. I like your idea on the concessions Tim. Removable posts and rope to slide the lines over and allow for more walking room would be ideal. Some folks seem offended if you walk in front of them, even if you say excuse me and are simply passing through to get by the congestion.

Not that it will matter, but in the final comments I told them it was great they were working to improve my game day experience, but it would be a shame if any of this came to pass and reduced stadium capacity. Others shouldn't be deprived of an opportunity to attend because of a stadium upgrade.

Haven’t received anything except bills from Bama. Well been around the sec a bit. Our bathrooms are cleaner. Quality seating. Excellent video boards. Fair concessions with normal high prices. Free water available if u have ur own bottle. Friendly people.
The line thing could be fixed as u guys stated
Great idea
Worse popcorn ever. How do u screw up popcorn?
Lines in n out arent bad I think for so many people
Truly one of my happy places in my life.
Butttttttt. That damn music and its volume needs to be mellowed out. I can handle the music ( even though i dont like it) but not at volume it is played at. And playing it between snaps during the game is terrible
Maybe people go for more then football
I truly have to cover my ears when they get going. Other places do it but not at the level at BD

I got mine too. Tim, I agree 100% I'm all about renovation and upgrades, but not at the sake of seating capacity.

I think there was talk about adding upper deck seating. I have always thought that they would end up adding seats between the upper decks at the top of the turn abouts, more or less, connecting the upper decks in a true bowl fashion. Probably an engineering night-mare, but I'm sure can be done.

i commented on the cell/wifi coverage, as well. mainly, about the lack of wifi on the quad during tailgating and the lack of good cell coverage inside the stadium during a game. and i'm on verizon. not that i'm on my phone a lot (if at all) during a game. but a good cell signal inside the stadium during games is a good idea, not a bad one as they think.

From the Crimson Column today.

Yesterday, surveys were emailed out asking for feedback regarding your game day experience at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The survey contains possible renovation ideas including, but not limited to, concessions, restrooms, concourses and seating. Note that you’ll likely see a variety of premium seating options. We thought it was important to include a lot of different choices to see which ones would generate the most interest. That being said, just because something is listed in the survey does not necessarily mean we will move forward with that type of premium option. Our goal is to provide the best game day experience in collegiate athletics, and your feedback is critical for us to make the best decisions regarding Bryant-Denny Stadium. Please know that no decisions have been made to this point, and with the recent tax reform, there are some unanswered questions that we are going to need to get our arms around before we can embark on a project like this. Participation is vital to this exercise, so I ask that you complete the survey to provide us with the information needed to make your experience at Bryant-Denny Stadium the best in the nation. A similar survey will be sent out in the near future for Coleman Coliseum, so be on the lookout!
