🏀 🏀 SEC Men's Tournament: Tide falls in semi-finals to Florida

Roll Tide!!!!! Dominating game. Was great to see how they performed after getting some rest. Good to see Reid getting back in there and Philon was outstanding. On to the next game against the only team that they played that I felt just looked better than them. Can they stay in front of UF's guards and will they fix the rebounding issues from the previous game?
 
Florida tomorrow is going to be a fucking war. I think we're playing much better since taking one in the chin from them. But it's still going to be a tall task to beat them. They have depth, can play at our pace, are disruptive on D, and are bigger inside. Alabama's just going to have to man up on D and stay mentally tough all game
 
That was some damn good defense tonight... Kentucky with a .886 PPP. And nice having Reid working his way back, that'll be big next week. Several guys are playing really good basketball right now, which is what you hope for in mid March. While I still have concerns about the toll playing 3 days in a row would take going into the Big Dance, if they do play all 3 days, may as well win them.

The Crimson Tide scored the second-most points in a SEC Tournament game in the 99-70 victory on Friday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 5/8 Alabama men's basketball team cruised to a 99-70 victory over No. 15/19 Kentucky in the 2025 Southeastern Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night in Bridgestone Arena. The 99 points are the second-most ever scored in an SEC Tournament by the Crimson Tide (25-7).

Labaron Philon led the charge with 21 points to go with four assists, three steals and three rebounds. Jarin Stevenson added 16 points including 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc while Mark Sears, Aden Holloway and Mouhamed Dioubate each had 13 in the win.

The Wildcats (22-11) were led by Andrew Carr's 18 points, while Amari Williams added 16 points, seven boards and four assists.

"We wanted to turn up our defensive intensity and I thought we did. I thought our ball pressure caused them some problems. Our plan was to try to keep them out of transition and get them off the three-point line and pressure the ball. On defense and on offense, I thought we could attack more. Obviously, that's a thinner Kentucky team, we're fortunate that they weren't as deep as us. I thought our transition could get to them and we ended up breaking them towards the end of the first half and early in the second half. These guys played great. This is the best Jarin (Stevenson) has played all year and Labaron (Philon) is peaking at the right time."
 
I know I could find this; just not choosing to go look for the date this morning.

Q: The last time Bama had a win over UK in the tourney? Are we going back to the late 80's? Early 90's?
