Holloway played much better in the second half. Wrightsell has really not looked good since the win at St Johns. He is driving himself into turnovers and making really poor decisions. I think Bristow had a bit of a rough game and is still trying to find his role.
Overall that was a frustrating ass game. Rebounding again was a major issue. First half, Alabama started dominating the boards, with Bol Bowen answering the challenge. Then, it fell off and effort was glaring obvious. I thimk Bethea and Mallette were the only two really crashing. Turnovers were unbearable. 54 points given up in the second half. This team just isn't going to be good defensively, and they will get dominated on the boards A LOT this season.
I find it frustrating that Oats said if no one is willing to rebound, their minutes will be cut severely. Just observing the team, you'd see we're not coached well to crash the glass. We ball watch the entire time instead of finding a man. Sherrell is about the only one that boxes out. Bol Bowen is 50/50 in his effort. He had 9 rebounds tonight but still lacks the intensity Oats is seeking. Finally, if Oats is cutting minutes for this issue, why the fuck does he continue to put Williamson (0 rebounds tonight; 4th game overall with 0) in?
