Guess we'll be #1 now, that's amazing. When we're we #1 in basketball last? Honest question, coulda been earlier this year or last year, I just can't recall.

We were number 1 for like a week until we lost at Tennessee. Then secured the #1 overall seed after winning the SECT.

Two years ago, almost to the week. Bama had beaten Auburn (road, Saturday afternoon national broadcast) and moved from #3 to #1 (only to lose to UT the next mid-week game (Wednesday, I think.)

Before that, December of 2002, wasn't it?

Yep. And that team lost to Utah and ended up getting ass blasted on the road vs Ole Miss. Got to remind myself at times how good we have it now. Gottfried, Grant, and Avery (minus one OT win vs South Carolina) never beat quality opponents on the road.

I'll again say, we're failing the program if we don't throw ridiculous money to keep Oats. We were all wanting a Saban/Sarah Patterson/Patrick Murphy type coach for Men's basketball and we finally got one.

DOE.Gov are just now releasing expenditures and such for the last fiscal year. We'll get accurate numbers soon for what he was paid, last fiscal year.

He's making a little over half of what Self is making. Same with Cal. He's making about the same as Sampson (who has as good of a resume and more seniority.)

There are some over paid coaches out there that skew the market. Does Pearl deserve to be the third highest paid coach? Should Rick Barnes make more than Hurley?

(Did you know that Oats takes home more than Hurley? Same with Underwood. And, assuming how Michigan is with their tax rates, he's probably taking home as much as Izzo is at MSU.)

Just a for what it's worth...Oats salary is roughly equivalent to a quarter of the revenue the basketball program produces annually. (DeBoer less than 10 percent.)

I still cannot figure out this team. We play very well and then act like we have never been on a court in our lifetime. The rebounding wasn’t great, Arky got a lot of 2nd shots. Nelson gets abused when he has to guard one on one. Phil on is struggling, no doubt about it. How do you almost blow a 18 point lead?? Still scratching my head. For Arky, Theirbo was a man and if he had not gotten in foul trouble, IMO, we would have been in big trouble. Z needed the ball in his hands more at the end of the first half. Fortunately, we were able to get out of Bud Walton with the win.
