I was hoping Tennessee would be right there with them but they honestly look better offensively than last season. I wish Barnes would hurry up and retire.
Pretty sure he wants to prove he can win with his system not just a Blue Blood and their easy path in recruiting. Bama's no slouch but we don't have near the sway certain BBall schools have when we walk in a recruit's house.
Mizzou is quietly flying under the radar. They just won their ninth straight game and their starting to really piece it together on offense. Knocked off Kansas the game before.
What a disastrous ending for Illinois. Going into 2025, looks like SEC could have 50+% of Sweet 16. Matchups in Tournament might be key for us doing better than last year. History and expectations make it unlikely we do better than last year. Hopefully Youngblood is difference maker. We are definitely more talented than last year, but could easily struggle to get past sweet 16.
Unfortunately Rutgers is not going to end up being too good of a win for us. Like us right now, they don't play a lick of defense. Lost to Princeton today 83-82.
UNC got a big win over UCLA though. That's good news.
Bama simply has to get better on defense if they are to come even close to what they have been aiming for, In this weeks press conference, Oats talked about the team that finished 3rd on defense was about the same place as this years team this time of year so obviously that team figured it out. In that same press conference he said he may have to sit people that are not getting it done on the defensive end. He should have the depth to do it.
In the North Dakota State game I kept wondering about Philon. Sounds like there was some discplinary things going on.
