Cannot make routine plays. I am out on Vaughn man.

He's young, really young for an SEC HC. That's part of his issue, IMO. But, he's also got to get a better staff around him and change the way they do some things, like not treating the roster like a bunch of MLB pros for starters. I have no clue what good Mike Morrison adds to the staff/team. He needs to be the 1st one shipped off and replaced with Brock Bennett (who Vaughn knows and likes). Bennett, IMO, is 10x the coach over Morrison.

Vols take the series with a 11-4 win. Outscored UA 21-4 on the day. Disappointing. And that 2nd game was disappointing x50. To come back out and play like that, implode in the 6th and give up the lead with those errors... inexcusable. Bama was no where near deserving to win either game today and the scoreboard reflected that. Bama falls to 10-11 in the league...

Vaughn's vision to how he wants to play was exciting. The execution of it all is subpar. I have watched little league field balls better than this team. Our hitting - the one area that we were all excited about under him - is god awful. Base running is mid. And even though pitching has somewhat carried this team (despite the complete implosions in various innings), I hated the move to retain JJ after two mediocre seasons.

There's been some flashes under Vaughn but it's still been disappointing to me. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad either if he didn't go winless in the tournament, but even that I guess is too much to ask for.

I'll still watch and support the program. But it'll be a lot like it was under Gaspard, just waiting for the inevitable.
