Literally lost a county championship my senior year of HS on a play like this. We were up 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th and our opponent had runners at 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs. Batter hits a 2 hopper out to 2nd base, he fields it easily. I’m playing first and I’m saying “you’ve got time, you’ve got time!” He proceeds to throw it 20-25 feet wide right of me and the bag. We lose 6-5!
